Norway is digitizing the railway network

Nordland Railway Line, which was opened as one of the largest infrastructure investments of the period in 1962 – together with the rest of Norway’s railway network is now showing its age, with signalling failures increasingly commonplace. Bane NOR, formerly is the Norwegian government agency responsible for owning, maintaining, operating and developing the Norwegian railway network took action. With a new €3bn programme all 336 signal boxes in the 4,200 km network will be replaced with a single data center.
